*** Hiking Safely In Grizzly Country

Trailhead located here.

During the COVID-19 pandemic Glacier National Park was closed to the public, but the Flathead National Forest was open. So we set out on a journey to find a beautiful hike, and we were very successful.

The trailhead parking lot is very easy to find, it is right off of the highway. The first half mile of the trail is pretty steep and will get your heart beating pretty fast, but after that it levels off and becomes very peaceful. There are a couple of other trails you can branch off to, but we decided to head towards the lake. The trail is listed as about four miles out and back each way. We figured out that you can reach a beautiful shoreline outlook in just about two miles. The trail continues along the lake, but we decided that we didn’t think the views would be much better than the epic spot we reached, so we decided to head back and do a second hike that day, the Garry Outlook.

This hike is a great quick hike and it would also be a perfect spot to go fishing, especially with an inflatable raft/kayak.

First lake outlook located roughly here.
